Calling all creative bikers!

CIRQUE DU CYCLING BIKE PARADE - JUNE 14th - MISSISSIPPI AVE.

Portland has a wealth of totally awesome bike clubs doing all sorts of neat tricks, so lets get together to parade for the masses!

Cirque du Cycling, a Mississippi bike fair in support of SEI, is calling all bike clubs to come and represent by marching and pedaling in the nation's largest bike pride parade on June 14th. It's totally free and a great way to show off your velo pride.

We want to see all the local clubs - from entertainers like the Sprockettes, down-and-dirties like Dropout, racers like the Gentle Lovers, the rowdy boys and girls of Team Beer and leisure riders like Slug Velo. Out of towners are welcome too.

Trainings

Burnout Prevention, Peaceful Communication, Coping With Change

The number one reason people leave jobs is emotional distress.

The cost of replacing an employee is 50% - 150% of the annual salary for the position. Yikes!

Many non-profits think they can't afford the cost of professional development training, but really, they can't afford not to.

Luckily, Stuck to Success has created several professional development trainings specifically for the non-profit community, at a price non-profits can afford.

Whether it be an one hour in service over lunch, a full day of training, or anything in between, we can custom match a training seminar to meet your agency's needs and budget.

Volunteering

No Ivy Day at Tryon Creek

Help the Friends of Tryon Creek State Park cut ivy on trees on “No Ivy” Day on May 3rd from 9 to noon.  When ivy climbs trees, it not only flowers and spreads its seeds; the weight of the ivy can knock over those trees, destroying entire tracts of forest.  Come help us stop this invader of the woods!   Please contact Robin Lewis at 503-636-4398 or [email protected] for more information and to sign-up. Groups of 5 or more, please pre-register first. All minors require a parent/guardian-signed insurance form.

Hey Renters, Fight Back!!

The Community Alliance of Tenants (CAT) is looking for volunteers to operate our peer-run Renters' Rights Hotline. Based in NE Portland, the hotline gives renters from throughout the state accurate and detailed information about our rights and practical tips on how to protect them. We counsel dozens of tenants a day, many of whom are at immediate risk of losing their housing.

The next volunteer training will be Saturday and Sunday May 17th and 18th from 2 to 6:30.

This is a great opportunity to learn about our rights under the law and how to stand up for them, while building tenant-power in Oregon- all in just four hours a month!

Please call or email Ari for more information or an application at (503) 460-9702 or [email protected]
