position summary:

Administrative Assistant for non-profit organization. 22 hours per week plus benefits. Starting hourly pay range: $12.91/hr. – $15.50/hr. Position provides administrative support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. In addition, this person will perform data entry duties for Development Dept. and provide back up to agency receptionist. Successful candidate will have four years of responsible office experience, including some experience with data entry. Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, experience working with the public and the ability to work independently and be flexible to a changing work environment are desired qualifications. Previous non-profit work experience is desired.

Salary / Pay Rate:Starting hourly pay range: $12.91/hr. – $15.50/hr.

Exploring Gifts-in-Kind Conference

April 14th & 15th, Portland, Oregon

Northwest-based international development NGOs Mercy Corps and World Vision are collaborating to organize a national conference on Gifts-in-Kind (GIK). This conference, open to all non-profit organizations with an interest in promoting GIK best practices, will be relevant to national and international NGOs that accept donated goods and utilize them in programs.

The conference will address a numerous issues related to GIK, including how to effectively build GIK into programs so that it helps achieve impact, the environmental impact of GIK and how to appropriately record GIK as "revenue."

Trip Leader Training for Canoe and Kayak Trips on the Tualatin River

TRIP LEADER TRAINING - LEARN TO LEAD CANOE & KAYAK TRIPS ON THE TUALATIN RIVER

March 14, 2009, 11:00 am - 6:00 PM, Tigard, OR

Explore this unique and beautiful river that flows through Forest Grove, Sherwood, Tigard and SW Portland.

Trip Leaders will learn water safety and rescue techniques.  Ideal volunteers will have experience paddling and own a canoe or kayak.  They will be responsible, detail oriented and like working with the public.  Volunteers must commit to leading two TRK paddle trips in 2008 in exchange for training.

Join Mentor Portland next Wednesday, March 11th, at the Green Dragon Bistro & Brewpub anytime between 6:30-8:30 pm to learn more about the most exciting and unique mentoring opportunity in Portland  - all while enjoying the tasty food and great atmosphere of Green Dragon. Although the need is high for male mentors, we are still looking for women too!
