The Portland Symphonic Choir proudly presents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's final work, the incomparable Requiem. Penned on his deathbed and left unfinished, the Requiem has been surrounded by mystery and controversy for centuries. PSC will perform the Levin version, believed by Mozart scholars to be the most true to the style in which Mozart wrote.

If you liked "Amadeus" you'll love hearing this masterwork presented live in Portland's premiere concert hall!

Jackson Middle School is a Bernstein School of Artful Learning. We are looking for an unpaid school garden intern to help our 6th grade team integrate gardening into the curriculum.

Where: Currently, the school is located on vast grounds in SW Portland with many possibilities, including an indoor and outdoor green house, and several raised beds already in. The 6th grade team consists of 7 teachers who are block teachers, meaning they have self-contained classes for literature, language arts, science, health and social studies.

When: This position is open immediately and will be through the end of this school year. There is a potential for summer and next school year, as well.

Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA's, are ordinary men and women from all walks of life, educational levels, and ethnic backgrounds, who volunteer to serve as an advocate for an abused child or sibling group who lives in foster care under the protection of the Juvenile Courts in Washington and Multnomah Counties.

When a CASA is court appointed to a case, he or she becomes the one person in the foster child's life who will be there from when the case opens to when it successfully closes.

The CASA is responsible for gathering information, and coordinating as many elements as possible, in order to secure for each child a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible.

Bureau of Planning and Sustainability offers $25,000 in small grants for waste prevention and recycling in Portland

Do you belong to a neighborhood association, nonprofit organization, ethnic group, or community of faith that is committed to recycling and waste prevention? Have you been looking for some additional resources to support or expand your green efforts? If so, your organization may be eligible to receive a grant from the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability.

The goal is to offer grant money to neighborhood, community and nonprofit organizations for projects or items that will help them overcome barriers to waste prevention and increase recycling while educating the community.

Spring has finally sprung and it is time to get out your work gloves! We have a couple of opportunities for some work parties and are looking for volunteers to help out!

Depaving Opportunity! On Saturday, March 21st, we will be partnering with the Mt. Scott Learning Center to depave part of their parking lot at MSLC! They are hoping to turn it into a green space for students and community members, and need volunteers to help with the depaving. They are looking for 40-50 volunteers. I know there are Depavers out there ready to bust up some cement, so here is your chance! The information is as follows:

Zenger Farm Seeks Community Involvement Intern

Would you like to gain experience and skills in community involvement and outreach? Are you passionate about farm education and environmental stewardship? Are you able to commit to 4 to 5 hours per week for 2 months or more? You could be a Spring Community Involvement Intern at Zenger Farm!

The Community Involvement Intern will work to develop and implement outreach and volunteer engagement efforts with a focus on outer southeast neighborhoods. Share your skills and make the wonderful resources at Zenger Farm available to more community members.
