Tuesday, April 7th, 5:30 p.m. Alisa Kane is the City of Portland's Green Building Coordinator. She is unveiling her thoughts about Sustainable Urban Development - with the unique perspective of someone who's been active in the creation of the City's newest Green Building Policy as well as during the early days of the ReBuilding Center.

The Green Heron Award Winner will be honored at the 11th Annual Green Heron Gala to be held April 25th, 2009 from 6pm until 9pm at the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro. The Green Heron Gala is an important and inspiring fundraiser that supports the crucial work of Tualatin Riverkeepers and the awards ceremony is the highlight of the evening. Our operational budget is $721,000, with over $200,000 coming from individual and corporate donors.

About This Position The Major Gifts Coordinator will help shape Green Empowerment’s efforts to increase funding from individuals and corporate donors, through a combination of donor cultivation and stewardship strategies.

Volunteering

Volunteer muralist needed at the Virginia Garcia Cornelius Clinic

In partnership with community organizations, local students, artists, and volunteers, The Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center will be creating a community mural in Cornelius this spring and summer. The mural will honor the rich history of Virginia Garcia, migrant farmworkers in Oregon, healthcare, and our bright future.

Experienced muralist needed to lead students and volunteers in the creation of a section of the mural. Art will be created by students, and community artists will volunteer to help students turn their artwork into a mural section. Volunteer muralist will need to commit to 25-30 hours of volunteer service over the next three months. Most work will be done on weekends.
