Volunteer for SOLV It on Earth Day

Volunteer on Saturday April 18th with SOLV for one of the largest Earth Day Events in the nation. Join thousands of other volunteers across the Portland Area from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 18 for SOLV IT. This year we have over 100 project sites in Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, and Yamhill counties. Activities include illegal dumpsite cleanup, watershed restoration, invasive plant removal, litter removal, and neighborhood beautification.

Spring is Here, so renew your clients’ confidence in gaining access to housing through education...teach them to overcome typical rental screening barriers with Ready To Rent! The next Certified Instructor Training will be held June 2-4, 2009.

This three-day training will equip agency providers with the necessary tools to successfully guide clients through the Ready to Rent process. Virginia Garcia’s mission is to provide high quality, comprehensive and culturally appropriate healthcare to the communities of Washington and Yamhill County with a special emphasis on migrant and seasonal farmworkers and others with barriers to accessing care. We serve 35,000 patients each year through four clinics, three dental clinics, a school-based health center and a mobile clinic which serves migrant communities.

Founded by volunteers in 1998, The ReBuilding Center is the nation’s largest non-profit reuse center for salvaged construction and remodeling materials.

The Rebuilding Center of Our United Villages will be hosting a weekend volunteer group on Saturday, April 25th, 9:00-12:00. We will be working in the warehouse to organize inventory and make the place look lovely and "shoppable." We really need some extra hands, so please come and bring a friend...or five! SOLV IT at Tryon Creek

SOLV-IT Restoration in the Park

Date: Saturday April 18, 2009

Time: 9:00am – Noon

The Friends of Tryon Creek are sponsoring two SOLV events here at the Park (April 18th and May 16th).  During these two days, groups and individuals will be working throughout the region and state to make our communities a better and healthier place to live.  Here at Tryon we will focus on removing invasive English ivy from our forest.
