Free Food Sharing Hands-On Workshop

Interested in gardening, cooking, gleaning, preserving or harvesting? Come learn new food sharing skills. Take a cooking class. Watch a canning demonstration. Volunteer at a garden or urban farm. Learn to identify urban edibles.

Meet at the Whole Foods Market Wellness Center at 9:00 am for a light breakfast and to pick your project. Lunch will also be provided. Childcare, transportation, and interpretation available upon request.

Bicycle Fix-It Fair and Safety Equipment Drive

The schools of Marshall Campus and Clark K-8 @ Binnsmead are hosting a Bicycle Fix-It Fair and Safety Equipment Drive on May 30, 2009.

This event will bring together community businesses and volunteers in an effort to provide bike tune ups, simple repairs and bike transportation resources free of charge for students, families and community members. The Bike Fair will address and resolve issues relating to bike repair costs and lack of appropriate safety equipment in our community. We are seeking donations of bicycles in good or easily repairable condition, lights, and locks, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday through May 30th at Marshall Campus.

Donations are tax deductible.

To recognize that nonprofits are key businesses critical to the economic health of our state, TACS and the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) have partnered with Oregon Business magazine to launch this nonprofit survey.

If you have at least 10 paid employees in Oregon, you may sign up to participate until June 5th. OUTSIDE IN - VOLUNTEER AT THE SYRINGE EXCHANGE

Intravenous Drug Users (IDU) Health Services Worker

Outside In is looking for volunteers to provide syringe exchange and HIV/Hepatitis C prevention and safer injection education for people who inject drugs. Provide respectful, non-judgmental harm reduction support and intervention and engage in discussion with participants about their health. Additional duties include ensuring that necessary supplies are available for clients and producing and distributing Syringe Exchange supplies. Offer our clients access to treatment and practical strategies to overcome their addictions.

Shifts are Monday - Friday, 12:45-6:00
