Springdale Job Corps serves a diverse community of at risk youth from 16 to 24 years of age. We offer high school diplomas, GED, drivers license and post secondary education to students that may not be able to pay for college or want to pursue a career and build on the skills they have.

On June 20th, from 1 pm to 3 pm, we are holding a health and wellness fair to bring resources to our students on all aspects of health and wellness - mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, etc. We are looking for organizations and/or individuals to help educate our students. You would have a booth provided by us at the fair and you are welcome to bring materials and demonstrations to reach the youth. Many students are teen parents and emancipated as well as from difficult backgrounds.

The Northwest Down Syndrome Association is excited to announce our first annual Spring Cleaning Rummage Sale! The sale is the brainchild of a young woman with Down syndrome who works in our office, and she is motivated to raise money for the Summer Social she is planning for our families. Qualifications:

1. Understanding and sympathy with the principles of the mission of the Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth.

2. Strong demonstrable database management skills using ACCESS and EXCEL. Ability to use and update this program from outset.

3. Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently

4. Good written and verbal communication skills

5. Familiarity with QUICKEN and QUICKBOOKS is preferred, but not required

6. Working knowledge of publication layout and photo manipulation software like MS Publisher and Photoshop Elements.

Salary: $15-20 per hour, depending on experience.

Join us to hear from Michael Maxwell who helped to organize and open the first Vet Center in Oregon. He has worked with combat veterans and their families for the past thirty years. His expertise in the field of PTSD will help us comprehend the issues faced by soldiers returning from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />combat. This session will provide understanding of the traumatic effects of war, needs the soldiers are facing, and information to help participants respond effectively when asked for help.
