The 5K walk around Portland’s South Park Blocks will begin at 10:00 a.m. Registration and check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a resource fair, ethnic crafts and refugee speakers to help commemorate the day.

VegFest is this weekend. This will be the largest vegetarian event ever held in Portland.  It will be a lot of fun, with great food and great information about eating lower on the food chain and working against global warming.  Friday May 9 Keynote 7pm.  Saturday May 10 Main Expo 10am to 6pm.

Mt.Hood Community College's Project YESS program for at-risk youth has an AmeriCorps LINKS position open for a Conservation Crew Leader/Environmental Educator.

Civic Engagement Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The VISTA member will develop relationships with faculty members and support service-learning efforts relating to K-12 education, urban poverty, and community sustainability.
