FREE K-8 Teacher Workshop at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge Oct. 3, 2009

The Tualatin River NWR offers an Environmental Education program which enables students to learn the value of our ecosystems. It extends the learning process beyond the conventional classroom limits and encourages students to make connections with their natural environment. This workshop provides teachers with the tools they need to bring students out for teacher-led field trips. Parent volunteers are welcome to join the workshop too.

When: Oct. 3, 2009, 8:30am-1:00pm

Volunteers needed for Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Picnic on Sept 12!

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for volunteers to help with our annual picnic on Saturday, Sept 12. The picnic is an annual event for our matches and their families to come together for an afternoon of food, fun and games. The picnic will be from Noon to 3 pm and volunteers are needed between 10 am and 3 pm. Volunteer duties include helping with set up, the food area, arts and crafts, games, and clean up. Volunteers can commit to as little as one hour or spend the afternoon with us (lunch is included). If you've ever wondered about who we are and what we are about (or even what it would be like to be a Big Brother or Sister) come join us and find out.

Gallery Sitting Volunteer

PICA's TBA:09 is just a few days away, and we're looking for volunteers to help with gallery sitting. Volunteers for the ON SIGHT Visual Arts exhibit will assist with general gallery operations, greeting visitors, distributing materials and information, and overall security. Volunteers can earn vouchers that are redeemable for tickets to performances.
