New Orleans benefit Saturday @ the Goodfoot (Stark & 28th)

Come on down to the Goodfoot this Saturday night for the funky Devin Phillips band from New Orleans!

The Goodfoot and Devin Phillips are generously donating 60% of all ticket sales Saturday toward rebuilding efforts in New Orleans.

This July myself and a group of seven other volunteers from Northwest Service Academy will donate hard work and enthusiasm to New Orleans recovery efforts. We will assist in high priority, need-based projects with Hands on NOLA while creating opportunities for knowledge-sharing focused on sustainable best practices with local New Orleans organizations.

Do you have a client facing an unintended pregnancy? Does she know she has options? Boys & Girls Aid is hosting weekly drop-in counseling sessions, facilitated by a pregnancy counselor, to encourage open discussion about pregnancy options. All options discussion is welcome, and personal viewpoints are always respected. The Bicycle Transportation Alliance is celebrating the month of walking and biking of 4,000 elementary students did as part of Walk + Bike to School Challenge Month. We need your help to put on this awesome event. Sunday June 8th, 10AM to 1PM in the PSU Park Blocks we’re partying with a minibike dance troupe, a squaredance and a wacky kid's bike race. On Saturday, July 12th, the streets around the Museum will be closed for a benefit gala: an evening of fine dining, auction, and live music. Volunteers are needed to assist with all levels of the festivities, including, but not limited to: check-in, auction, gallery security, hosting, and Museum information. Join the Museum’s staff and board in celebration of the first anniversary of the Museum’s move to its new location and the release of the first publication about the Museum’s collection, titled Unpacking the Collection.

A unique way to support homeless and at-risk youth in our community!

New Avenues for youth  has a great opportunity for you to volunteer a couple hours of your time & have fun in the sun:

Our Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop will be working at 4 locations during the upcoming Rose Festival, from May 29th – June 8th.  As a result, they would love to have some volunteer scoopers working at one of the carts or at the tent at the Rose Festival.

When: Between 11am-11pm, 2 or 3 hours shifts, May 29th-June 8th

Where: Waterfront/Downtown Portland

Why: Have fun & support our youth!  You will also get free ice cream at a mini-training put on by the manager of the shop…..
