CLF is seeking a part-time organizer to work from December 2009 through June 2010 to assist with planning, coordination, and outreach for CLF’s Eighth Annual Regional Livability Summit. The Summit includes two segments: The first is a full conference which includes keynote addresses, a plenary panel and a variety of interactive breakout sessions. The second, called the Days of Equity Action, will include a set of done-in-a-day events—guided discussions, planned service projects, and advocacy activities focused on regional equity.

Salary / Pay Rate:• Professional development in areas of public policy and non-profit management. • Building personal contacts with a wide array or organizations and individuals in the Portland metro area. • Upon successful completion of a term of service, eligible members receive an education award of $1,000-$4,725. The education award can be used to repay qualified student loans, for further education in an accredited institution of higher learning, vocational or for trade schools. The education award is taxed in the year that it is used. • Loan forbearance (after successful completion of a term of service, AmeriCorps will pay a portion of the accrued interest on qualified loans, which is taxable).

ASE PROGRAM COORDINATOR at Saturday Academy (Starts as 0.5 FTE, to move into 1.0 FTE after 4-6 week transition period)

FLSA Status: Exempt (This position does not pay overtime)

Salary Range: $30,000 – 34,000

Saturday Academy provides enrichment education, primarily in science, math, technology & engineering, to students in grades 2-12. The Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering (ASE) Program provides internship opportunities in these fields to highly motivated high-school students. We are seeking a permanent staff person to coordinate ASE Program logistics.

Adelante Mujeres’ small business development program, Adelante Empresas, is seeking volunteers to mentor a small Latino/a business.

The mission of Adelante Empresas is to increase the wealth and economic stability of Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs and their families by providing comprehensive small business training and cooperative marketing.

Adelante Empresas’ programs works towards improving the wellbeing of the local Latino/a community through providing access to the social and economic capital necessary for Latino/a businesses to succeed in today’s society.
