Introduction to Global Justice

Explore the topic of living locally while promoting justice globally. In the words of Dr. King, "An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Conversely, justice anywhere is a threat to injustice everywhere.

The Pacific Center for Global Justice will share its unique and integrative approach to justicemaking. Participants will gain greater appreciation for the relevance of global justice in relation to their daily lives, and the importance of a multi-disciplined approach to furthering justice in our world.

Movies and Meaning Group "That Evening Sun" - February 18

This month's movie will be "That Evening Sun" starring the 85-year old Hal Holbrook in what many are saying is the performance of his career. Holbrook plays Abner Meecham, who has decided to return to his home after being placed in a nursing home by his son. When he returns he discovers his son has rented it out to another family. The movie pits Meecham (who is wanting to return home) with a young family trying to build a home for themselves. The movie looks to raise good questions about our attachment to place, what makes something a home, the caretaking role, and honoring our own journey through life and it's changes. See http://thateveningsun.com/index.php/site/ for more information.
