Mortgage Default Intake Orientation

The Community Housing Resource Center will be holding free Mortgage Default Intake Orientations on Tuesday, February 23rd, and Thursday, February 25th, from 5-6PM at the Center. This workshop is the first step in learning how to work with your lender and how the Center can assist you in getting help to resolve your mortgage issue. You need not be in default in order to attend or get help. No reservations are required. For information, contact 360-690-4496 X105.

Census 2010: Who Counts?

The 2010 census will determine Oregon’s share of more than $400 billion in federal funds for schools, hospitals, job training and more. Census data also provides facts that help with research and advocacy on topics ranging from disease prevention to disaster preparedness.

Oregon Outreach's Annual Fund Raiser

 I just wanted to share with you that Oregon Outreach's Annual Fund Raiser is March 5th, 6-9 pm at the North Star Ballroom 635 N Killingsworth Ct., Portland, Oregon 97217. Tickets are $25.00 and all the money goes directly to projects for the kids. We are having a silent art auction and raffle.  There are many great items to bid on and a variety of raffle prizes.  You will not be disappointed.

Gateway to College National Network (GtCNN) is a fast-growing education nonprofit organization with partner programs in 16 states. The National Network is replicating the Gateway to College model with support from several national foundations. Founded at Portland Community College, the program now operates at 27 colleges in partnerships with over 115 school districts. This position will work as a part of the Research & Evaluation team focusing on customized database design for the growing network of partner colleges. This is a full-time, salaried position.

OPEN POSITION - OUTSIDE IN - HOUSING SPECIALIST

HOUSING SPECIALIST - Open Until Filled

 

Be part of an energetic and innovative team that provides a Transitional Housing Program for culturally diverse, homeless youth, ages 16-21. The position is 34 hours a week, two swing and two overnight shifts, might also include some week-ends. Team members take on lead responsibilities and are engaged in continuing to develop and improve the program. We are looking for someone who has two years experience working in the areas of at-risk youth, homeless youth or shelter/housing programs; BA/BS in a related field is a plus.  Spanish language ability valued, diversity highly valued.  $11/hr+ full benefits.

Young Audiences' Teacher Professional Development

Young Audiences is pleased to present two Teacher Professional Development workshops training teachers in our ground-breaking Arts for Learning Literacy Lessons. The Arts for Learning Lessons include teacher-led Lesson Units and Artist Residencies taught by Young Audiences Teaching Artists. The Lesson Units and Companion Residencies align with national and local Arts and English Language Arts standards, addressing complex literacy concepts such as determining point-of view, making inferences and summarizing . Studies have shown that A4L Lessons achieve outcomes that are “statistically significant.”
