Tune into OMSI’s podcast, Sound Science, providing illuminating answers to wonder-filled questions. This week's questions are:

City Club of Portland Seeks Office Administrator

POSITION: Office Administrator

SUMMARY: This is a full-time position with a broad set of responsibilities touching on multiple aspects of City Club’s operations. The office administrator plays a vital role on a highly interdependent team of 4.5 staff members and hundreds of volunteers. The club administrator reports to the executive director.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Create and implement seamless system for processing receivables, working closely with the executive director and membership & development director. Routine functions include processing and tracking membership payments, donations, program revenue and other income.

Work Incentive Coordinator

Work Incentives Coordinator (half time) for Disability Rights Oregon (formerly Oregon Advocacy Center). The coordinator provides information and outreach to beneficiaries of SSI/SSDI about their benefits and working. Candidates need: basic understanding of SSI/SSDI and other benefit programs; effective communication skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly; good interpersonal skills; and basic computer skills. AmeriCorps HOPE position with the Woodburn School District

This is a full time position with AmeriCorps HOPE and the Woodburn School District beginning September 1, 2008 and ending July 31, 2009.

Job Description

The AmeriCorps member is expected to raise awareness of health issues related to sexual behaviors and educate youth about teen pregnancy prevention. The member will work daily with teachers and staff of the Woodburn School District and partner with the Marion County Health Department, Planned Parenthood, and the Parks and Recreation Teen Center to promote healthy sexuality for youth in the Woodburn community and schools. Responsibilities include:

• Facilitating peer-led sex education to 6th grade classrooms
