FREE TO GOOD HOME

FREE TO GOOD HOME Large lot (approximately 100) of silk houseplant baskets. Use as a fundraiser or perhaps you have another good way to put them to use for your nonprofit? We received these lovely houseplant arrangements as a donation and we just can't use them. Each arrangement comes in a basket measuring 6" across and includes a jute hanger so it can be used as a tabletop or hanging plant. This lot would also be useful to a theatre company for building props or a landscape set as the greenery can easily be clipped from the baskets. Photos are available. Please contact me to make arrangements to come and get them. Dianne McGill Executive Director Banfield Charitable Trust 8000 NE Tillamook Portland, OR 97213 (503) 922-5426 [email protected]

Easels or music stands needed for fundraiser

Oregon Outreach, Inc. is a non-profit alternative high school.  We have an annual fundraiser that is a silent auction and have been leaning artwork against walls.  This does not show the work very well to help get good bids.  This year I am hoping to find donations of easels or maybe old music stands that we could have or just borrow for the event.  It will take place in the Spring but I want to ensure we have at least 20 of them now.  Please contact me at [email protected] if you can help. Thank you, Kim Keyes Fundraiser Chair

And how can you help them be successful within your role as the executive director - an important but sometimes awkward line to draw? Read the full description

Holiday Volunteer Opportunity to Help Homeless Animals

Meow! We are excited to announce that the Cat Adoption Team will have the opportunity to spread some holiday cheer to the PetSmart stores all through the month of December for the annual Santa Claws event. This popular event gives PetSmart customers and their pets the chance to pose for a photo with "Santa Claws." For every "Santa Claws" photo package purchased during a CAT shift, PetSmart donates $5 directly to CAT. This is a great opportunity for us to bring in some much-needed funds for CAT this holiday season! We need volunteers to staff the event every weekend in December leading up to the Christmas holiday.

Willy Wonka's Wonderful World of Words at Buckman Elementary!

Buckman Elementary's SUN (School's Uniting Neighborhoods) program needs volunteers excited about writing, poetry, and their imaginations to lend a hand at Buckman's Roald Dahl-themed Family Write Night November 18 from 6-8 PM!

Volunteers will help lead activities based around Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The B.F.G., Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach. Activities and games will stress creative writing, poetry, and illustration, and volunteers will have the freedom to build upon the activities already being brainstormed for the event.

While knowledge of Roald Dahl's work is helpful, it is more important for volunteers to promote literary creativity in the student participants!
