Join Community Action!

Community Action's "People You Should Know" breakfast is just one week away but it's not too late to reserve a seat!

Throughout the past 45 years, and especially during current challenging times, Community Action has been there to keep families safe and warm in their homes, connect them with resources to alleviate the impacts of poverty, and provide access to opportunities for a brighter future. It is the dedication of our partners and the support of our community that makes this possible.

I hope you'll join us to learn more about an organization that is filling a vital role in our community, helping thousands of Washington County families achieve self-sufficiency and realize success every year.

The West Linn Wilsonville School district is located 20 miles south of Portland in Clackamas County Oregon and serves approximately 8,400 students each year. This is a unique opportunity to join the burgeoning farm-to-school movement in Oregon.

Nonprofit News

RACC announces that the Right Brain Initiative unveils imaginative new website

The Right Brain Initiative launches today a vividly animated and upgraded website, providing increased program information and capability for interaction. The site, found online at www.TheRightBrainInitiative.org, was created by local firm NORTH, who generously provided the design and construction on a partial in-kind basis. The Right Brain Initiative is a unique public-private partnership managed by the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), which works to make sure all K-8 students of the Portland metropolitan area receive high quality arts education. NORTH and Right Brain began their relationship in 2008 when North developed branding for the Initiative.

Fight Poverty by volunteering to prepare taxes

YOU can make a substantial and immediate difference with your gift of time!

• Hardworking Oregonians spend hundreds of dollars on tax preparation.

• Many fall prey to predatory lenders selling high-cost loans advertised as “fast refunds.”

• 25% of eligible Oregonians miss tax credits intended to offer immediate help.

• The average family or individual we helped last year made just over $20,000 in income and received 1,300 in federal refunds with FREE tax preparation.

• These dollars made a real difference to 15,800 Oregonians, many living on the edge of poverty, and to our neighborhood businesses.
