Paid Internship with Metro Regional Parks and Greenspaces

DESCRIPTION: This a paid internship working with our staff restoration volunteer program coordinator on all aspects of the restoration volunteer program over the next several months. The intern will gain experience leading groups in the field, ID'ing wildlife, planning and running a project, conducting targeted community outreach, developing materials, and more.

INTERN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn about and assist with crew leading volunteer restoration projects. Assist with outreach to the community regarding volunteer activities and stewardship opportunities. Assist with creating educational props and teaching materials and restoration informational handouts. Assist with tool maintenance and volunteer supplies inventory.

Dog Attendant for Virginia Woof Dog Daycare - 510 NE MLK Blvd.

A division of Outside In, Virginia Woof Dog Daycare is the first dog daycare in the nation that operates as a job training program for homeless, at risk or disadvantaged youth. Currently we are seeking an On-Call Dog Attendant that can work safely with numerous dogs, follow strict protocols and has the ability to assist the program in mentoring and training youth. On call hours are seven days a week 6:30am-7:30pm, including Holidays. Some hours are scheduled in advance, otherwise you will be called in to work if needed. We are looking for a flexible and positive individual to fill this position which often leads to permanent employment. Previous dog and youth experience is desired but not required. Compensation is $9/hr.

Child Care Rental Home Available

ROSE Community Development has a townhouse for rent specifically designed for an in-home child care business. It is located at 8002 SE Duke Street in Portland across from Woodmere Elementary School. The 400 square foot child care space on the ground floor has cubbies, storage, a separate refrigerator, bathroom, and an attached outdoor fenced yard. The home has 3 bedrooms and 2 more bathrooms, washer/dryer hook-up, paid water, sewer, and garbage. A person committed to starting a child care business or an established provider are both welcome to apply. ROSE Community Development participates in Child Care Improvement Project Networks and can offer consultation to interested providers. Income limits apply.

Seeds of Science - OMSI

Come help out on Saturday April 19th or Sunday April 20th with OMSI's Seeds of Science event!

Seeds of Science is a new OMSI event looking at sustainability in the food we eat and grow. We will have several stations where volunteers can help out: Gardening, Cooking, Saplings, Bees, Composting, and Naturescaping.

If you know everything there is to know on these topics or if you want to learn, we would love your help as a volunteer!

We have two shifts available each day: 9:30 - 1:30 and 1:30 - 5:30. Just pick a day, a shift, and a station
