Save the Date -- the Mindful Gifts Bazaar returns – Saturday, Dec. 11th!

On Saturday, December 11th, Bridgeport UCC will again host the Mindful Gifts Bazaar – a unique holiday bazaar solely for non-profit organizations.

From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., nonprofits from all over the Portland area come together for this great fund and friend-raising event, "selling" pieces of their organization's projects to people who want to give meaningful and affordable gifts to their friends & families while supporting the work of Portland’s non-profits.

So save the date, get the ball rolling in your court, and in September we’ll start with the registrations.

Events Planner Volunteer

The Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for an individual or business to assist with event planning on a volunteer or pro bono basis. We’re looking to change up our image and add some exciting new partnerships – think DoveLewis for some great examples.

We hope to find creative thinkers who have the ability to work a phone, drum up interested partners and coordinate logistics. In exchange for your time, we’ll give you lots of freedom, regular appreciation, marketing/communications support, samples for your portfolio, and the chance to work with one of the largest and most well-respected non-profits in the country. And, in the case of pro bono work, a tax deduction!

A new edition of Sound Science is posted every Friday. The podcast is like a radio show, with host Anders Liljeholm asking OMSI educators to respond to questions from people from around the world. The interviews are approximately 5-10 minutes in length.

Volunteering

Bite of Oregon Green Team Volunteers Needed

Join the Bite of Oregon Green Team and help make a huge environmental impact! The Bite of Oregon has become a leader in our regions largest outdoor events in working towards being a more sustainable event; and it’s happening because of green team volunteers! Last year’s Green Team helped the event reach a 49% landfill diversion rate; an incredible increase from 22% in 2006.

This year with all restaurant vendors required to use compostable food service ware, we will be introducing public composting at this event. The goal is to recycle and compost 75% of the event’s waste. This is a huge goal and we need your help!
