Development Specialist

Description: Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is the leading provider of HIV prevention, education, housing, advocacy and support services in Oregon and Southwest Washington. We are seeking an experienced Development Specialist as a critical part of the overall Development Team. Core areas of focus include data management, donor communications, and support to the Development Director and Special Events Coordinator. Data management includes data entry, analysis, and report creation utilizing multiple software platforms. Donor communications includes the coordination of annual appeal and other donor solicitations, management of donor thank-you letters, management of electronic newsletter distributions, and establishing and documenting leads for CAP’s telefunder. In addition, the Development Specialist will liaise with, and provide support to the Board of Director’s Development Committee, the Development Director and Special Events Coordinator. This position reports to the Development Director.

Minimum Qualifications: • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), working knowledge of the internet; • At least three years experience using advanced data management software such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar platforms for achieving organizational objectives. • Highly organized and able to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously; including ability to prioritize work projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficiency with mail merges, data import/export, mailing list generation and processing. • Excellent customer service skills for interface by phone and at events of agency supporters/donors/clients/volunteers. • Ability to work under pressure and maintain positive and professional demeanor. • Must be available to work some evening and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications: • Two years experience supporting non-profit fundraising efforts via donor management and/or major events. • HTML website navigation experience • Familiarity with web based donation programs, such as Kintera • Familiarity with auction management software, such as AuctionPay • Experience working with graphic designers, printers and mail houses

Salary / Pay Rate:Compensation: $35,000 - $38,000 annually, 1.0 FTE, depending on experience; employer-paid health, dental, vision, long-term disability and life insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with generous employer matching contribution, 125C cafeteria savings plan; generous vacation and health leave benefits. This is a union represented position.
