Neighborhood House SUN Community School Summer Instructor, Robert Gray MS: 20 hrs./wk. (plus 2 hours instruction/prep time if necessary). Monday-Thursday for 4 weeks (July 6, 2009 - July 30, 2009).

Three positions available

Job Responsibilities:

The Robert Gray SUN School Summer Instructor will prepare and/or implement curriculum and teach academic activities focused on science, math or reading for 6-8th graders, as well as supervise lunch time and teach enrichment (arts, drama, sports) or group games for an hour daily.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education and experience teaching middle school aged students Strong classroom management skills and natural leadership qualities Positive and enthusiastic attitude Available for 4 weeks of summer program 9:30am – 2:30pm; Mon-Thurs Ability to work with middle school-aged youth, their parents, and diverse clientele (ethnic/racial backgrounds, income levels) in effective & culturally competent manner Must submit to criminal background check as condition of employment
