Grow Your Own Medicine!

The June offerings from The Arctos School (http://arctosschool.org) focus on sustainable ways to grow, wildcraft, and make your own herbal medicine. Our sliding scale is offered to accommodate nonprofiteers and other low-income folks -- our belief is that healing herbal remedies should be accessible to everyone!

Gardening with Medicinal Plants -with Gradey Proctor Thursday, June 4th, 6pm-9pm

Put your health back into your own hands. In this class we’ll enjoy time in an established herb garden, meeting some easy-to-grow medicinal rockstars like Echinacea, Skullcap, and Calendula. We’ll discuss how to cultivate, tend, and harvest medicinal plants. Participants will leave with strategies for putting in their own herbal garden... and maybe even a plant or two to start with! How to Make Your Own Tinctures! -with Missy Rohs Sunday, June 7th, 12pm-2pm

Ever wondered how to make medicine from garden-grown plants? In this hands-on workshop, we’ll discuss five easy-to-grow medicinal plants and how best to tincture them. Then, we’ll create our own tinctures using freshly-harvested plants! Each participant will take home their own tincture. Class will be held in SE Portland. Registration required by June 4th. Hidden treasures of the Columbia Gorge -with Gradey Proctor Tuesday, June 30th, 9am-4pm

Join us for another Last Tuesday outing! On this hike we'll start out above the waterfalls in the Columbia Gorge and meet many plants not encountered at lower elevations. Please bring lunch, water, and gear for a short hike. Carpool will leave from SE Portland. Class size limited. Cost: $35, sliding scale available. Registration required by June 27th .
