position summary:

The PAN Outreach and Event Intern will assist in event coordination, increasing public awareness of PAN, its programs and volunteer opportunities. The intern will work with the PAN Board members to coordinate event volunteers and logistics, and to identify and address PAN’s outreach goals and needs. The intern will work on a variety of diverse projects including PAN’s gallery shows, brown-bag and happy hour events, PAN’s annual membership meeting, community outreach events and a variety of arts shows, including Art-in-the-Pearl.

General Responsibilities (to include): •Work with PAN board members to promote its services and other community events and programming. •Work with the PAN board to schedule and coordinate PAN events and community outreach.•Create and distribute press releases on an as-needed basis. •Photograph and catalog artist’s work.•Assist with contributing to and publishing our newsletter which will highlight our programs and activities to our membership.

Salary / Pay Rate:Unpaid
Required Skills and Abilities:•Must be outgoing, detail-oriented, and organized. •Must be responsible and be able to see a project through. •Regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications:•We are looking for a motivated self-starter with excellent people and communication skills to fill this position. •An interest in art, especially printmaking, is strongly preferred. •Previous public relations or journalism training/ education/coursework experience. •Previous skills and experience working with standard software is a plus.
