Clean Soil = Clean Food: next Tuesday's InFARMation (and Beer!)

June 9th - InFARMation (and Beer!): Clean Soil = Clean Food

The concept of "clean" food has become an issue that eaters are thinking and talking about, due in part to recent food safety scares.  It makes sense that what goes into the soil is what comes out into our food.  Steve Campbell, grass-fed cattle rancher and farmer consultant from Idaho, will discuss the concept of clean soil vs. dirty minerals from chemical fertilizers at InFARMation (and Beer!) on June 9th.

Learn what you may not know about carbon sequestration on farmland and industrial waste products in our food system.  Please join Friends of Family Farmers in a community discussion about the connection between food and farms in Oregon! We could use a few volunteers during InFARMations to help set up the room and run the slide show during the speaker.

If interested, please email me!InFARMation (and Beer!) is held every month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Roots Organic Brewery’s Event Space (next door, just south of the brew pub under the broken Workplace Footwear Sign) on SE 7th Ave.

The event starts at 5:30 with networking and beer drinking. The speakers start at 6:30; presentations and Q&A last until 8pm, with additional networking and discussion afterwards. Beers are always $2.50! Please note that there has been a change in food service at Roots - to order from the Roots’ menu you must sit next door at the brewpub. The happy hour food menu is available to be ordered from the bar in the event space. We hope to see you there!

Please help us promote InFARMation by passing this on to anyone you think might be interested!  If you have an idea for an InFARMation (and Beer!) topic, drop me a line.
