Sustainability Youth Camp
July 20 - 24 Ages 12-16 $350, some scholarships available
This week-long enrichment camp is designed to help youth experience the concept "sustainability" when put into action. As the "green economy" grows, this opportunity can help students think in new ways when considering future careers.
The week begins with a canoe trip to the Columbia Slough to understand a local ecosystem. During the week we'll explore climate change, build a micro-hydro generator, investigate sustainable food products, calculate ecological footprints, and see how local businesses reduce their environmental impacts. We'll also give back to our community by helping out on a local farm or removing invasive species from the Columbia Slough.
