Job Title: Systems Administrator and Desktop Support
Reports to: Finance Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: Part time – 20 hours per week
Benefits: Paid holidays and personal leave. Eligible for medical and dental benefits, short-term and long-term disability, life and AD & D insurance, 401k and flexible spending plan.
Pay rate: $22.50 per hour
Location: Human Solutions offices in Portland, Gresham and 7 other locations in Mid and East Multnomah County
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Finance Director, the IT Systems Administrator provides support for all aspects of the information technology infrastructure in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Responsible for ensuring proper functioning of organization’s computer network (WAN), equipment, hardware and software, peripheral equipment, phone systems, and website. Plays key role in developing long-term technology plan. Must be extremely customer-service and results-oriented. Must be able to address systems level technology issues and maintenance while also providing responsive and effective end user support and to prioritize available work time between ongoing tasks and immediate system or end user needs.
Hours: Part time 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday; occasional evening or weekend hours required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for all levels of desktop environment support, which includes 65 Windows XP workstations and laptops and distributed printers Responsible for network system with 4 Windows 2003 servers in coordination with outside IT managed services provider Responsible for assisting with planning, implementation and maintenance of peripheral equipment and software such as networked printer/scanner/fax/copiers, data and internet services, imaging, and antivirus applications Analyzes, recommends and coordinates WAN, ISP, telecommunications, WIKI and other technologies to meet organization’s ongoing requirements Responsible for managing services for domain names and website hosting Improves desktop hardware and software processes Provides user training on systems use and access Responsible for coordinating security, anti-virus and disaster recovery methodologies with outside IT managed services provider Set up client computer labs to require minimal support and maintain lab computers and printers for client use Maintain an accurate inventory of all agency technology related equipment and make recommendations to management regarding appropriate replacement schedules for all equipment Work with outside vendors to obtain the fairly priced, high quality hardware and software in alignment with agency’s needs and purchasing policies Inform supervisors regarding any inappropriate or suspected inappropriate use of Human Solutions technology

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Technical or Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems and a minimum of three years professional experience required. Certifications of extended learning in Information Technology with comparable work experience can fulfill educational requirements Working knowledge of installing, configuring and supporting hardware and connectivity components in a networked environment Working knowledge of current communications services for internet access; ability to analyze, recommend, and coordinate voice and data solutions Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, antivirus applications, and ability to provide appropriate support for product use Must be extremely customer-service and results-oriented, an experienced problem solver who seeks assistance when necessary Possesses a “can do” attitude Motivated self-starter Excellent interpersonal skills Good written and verbal communication skills Experience anticipating, recognizing and resolving various technical problems and ability to perform root cause analysis Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects, activities and priorities Experienced decision maker Must be able to communicate effectively with users at all skill levels in a professional manner Must be familiar with IT concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to work respectfully in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual fast paced environment
