Immediate opening for a Temporary Immigration Attorney at Sponsors Organized to Assist Refugees (SOAR) a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) Please email resume and cover letter to EMO at [email protected].
Position closed on June 21st at 5:00p.m. The position will be that of a temporary (approximately 90 Days), part-time (0.5 FTE) employee.
Responsibilities will include: (1) supervising SOARs Cuban Haitian Assistance Program, which provides legal services to low income Cuban and Haitian entrants in a broad range of cases including: adjustment of status, work authorization, naturalization, and representation at removal hearings (2) reviewing and maintaining caseload of other administrative applications with USCIS including refugee adjustment of status, immigrant visa petitions, naturalization, and other immigration remedies (3) performing financial and administrative duties including grant compliance reports, fee collection, and accounting.
Required qualifications: ability to work within the mission, vision and ethics of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, licensed attorney with law degree from accredited law school, minimum 1 year experience in immigration law. Desired, fluency in Spanish and English.
Salary commensurate with experience.
