position summary: | The Education Manager, under general direction, manages child development services for the Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) programs. Provides guidance and information on current best practices about early childhood care and education. Develops and manages policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations in the area of early childhood care and education. Collaborates with applicable college employees and external liaisons, manages department budget and provides direct supervision of department employees. Works independently and in a team environment to support the vision, mission and goals of the College and the Child Development and Family Support Programs.. Salary / Pay Rate: | The hiring range is $177.04 to $187.92 per day. Position subject to budget consideration and approval. |
Qualifications: | * Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field * At least three years of experience working with children and families in an early childhood program, including at least two years as a classroom teacher and at least two years of supervisory experience * At the College's discretion, additional qualifying education/experience may substitute for education/experience, on a year for year basis Experience working with diverse backgrounds of the College's community, students and employees; demonstrated commitment to promoting access and diversity * Current driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable automobile during work hours for transportation to off-campus sites * Must be able to lift 50 pounds |
