Summer Events Volunteers

New Seasons BBQ Event:

When: Saturday July 25th and Sunday 26th from 12 – 4pm What: Nine New Seasons locations in Portland are hosting a “Benefit BBQ” for local area programs. All the proceeds earned from selling the BBQ dish will go to CCA. Needed: 2-3 volunteers per day (1 to work with food, 1 to handle money, and 1 to help in case someone else needs a break). These volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Wake Jam:

When: Friday July 31st and Saturday August 1st What: WAKE JAM is Portland's premier festival of events, focusing around the renowned 1080 Double-Up Wakeboard Competition. The sport's best athletes will go head-to-head on the Willamette River competing for a purse of $15,000. Event-goers will also be able to enjoy the Freestyle Motocross Exhibition in Waterfront Park put on by some of the nation's best FMX riders, the Metal Mulisha. But it doesn't stop there. Live music all day on the Liquid Charge Main Stage, local exhibitors, food vendors and plenty of sponsor giveaways will keep the crowd energized. Needed: We need about 80 volunteers to help us sell tickets at the gate, monitor emergency exits and run a silent auction. Shifts: Friday July 31st: 2:15pm-6:45pm or 6:15pm-11pm Saturday August 1st: 10:15am-2:45pm, 2:15pm-6:45pm or 6:15pm-11pm

Vine Ride:

When: Friday August 14th and Saturday August 15th What: The Vine Ride is a wine country bike tour that starts from Newberg Senior High School and the routes (35 miles, 65 miles, or 100 miles) include charming villages, century-old farms, berry groves and vineyards throughout Yamhill County. All proceeds from this event will benefit CCA. Needed: We're expecting 600-700 participants and need around 100 volunteers to cover all our posts. Shifts: Friday August 14th: 4pm-7pm for setup

Saturday August 15th: 5am-10am for Registration 5am-10am and 10am-3pm for Start and Finish posts 6am-10:30am and 10:30am-3pm for Route Control 7am-11:30am and 11:30am-4:30pm for Rest Stop Monitors 5pm-6:30pm for Clean Up
