Like Farmers Markets and Meeting New People?

1000 Friends of Oregon, a statewide non-profit working to protect Oregon farmland and promote livable urban and rural communities, is looking for volunteers to join us at farmers markets and events this summer.

This volunteer opportunity is open to anyone living in the Portland Metro area (Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties) who cares about protecting Oregon farms and fighting urban sprawl. We're looking for volunteers to clipboard and table at farmers markets across the region to talk with shoppers about why we need to be preserving our local farms and supporting strong urban areas.

Looking for friendly, self-directed, dependable volunteers who are willing to learn and have a few hours a week to spare to attend farmers markets. Hours/week are negotiable based on availability. Find out more about urban and rural reserves on our website at http://www.friends.org/issues/reserves. Contact [email protected] to find out more.
