Marketing, communications and development internship at Animal Aid

This internship is offered for the primary purpose of providing Animal Aid with support to marketing, communications and development functions under the co-supervision of the Development Director and  Executive Director.

Intern(s) will be assigned projects, tasks or administrative support items as needed to include, but not be limited to:

            Phone calls

            Data entry or reporting

            Copying

            Mailing

            Proofreading

            Emailing

            Research using computer and other tools

            Special event assistance   

This internship is expected to last a minimum of 3 months, with flexibility of assigned time agreed to be 15-20 hours per week. 

The experiences gained from internships with Animal Aid are designed to aid the intern in enhancement of professional background with the hope of improved job searches in the future. Animal Aid may be used as a reference. 

Seeking someone open to instruction and learning with the ability to follow any rules and guidelines presented to him/her with regard to communicating with the public, the media, Animal Aid volunteers, board and staff and others. 

This is an unpaid opportunity which may be terminated with or without cause at the discretion of Animal Aid. 

Requirements of intern: Attention to detail, willingness to take direction, ability to work with limited supervision, professional communication skills (phone and interpersonal), flexibility with regard to projects and timelines, can-do attitude is a must! 

The majority of the work will be performed in a shared office in the Animal Aid shelter, so the applicant must be able to work in an environment with many cats in the vicinity. Learn more about Animal Aid, Inc. by visiting our Web site www.AnimalAidPDX.org
