Hospice Volunteer Training

Signature Hospice invites you to join our team to support patients and families in your Portland community. Our volunteer training will prepare you to provide the companionship and support so many patients and families need when faced with a terminal illness. It may be that you walk with someone in a garden at their home or care facility. It may be that you hear stories of a lifetime of relationships and adventure, or listen to current worries and concerns. Hospice is about quality of life. Your compassionate and loving presence is all that is required to make a tremendous difference in someone’s life.  Our volunteer opportunities include:

Patient/Family Companion, Vigil, Bereavement, Pet Therapy, Music Therapy, Aroma Therapy, Alternative Therapies, Special Projects/Administrative -- work on our newsletter, help in our offices, crochet, knit, quilt lap blankets from your home...

Our next hospice companion volunteer training is scheduled for July 30th 6-9pm, Aug 1st & 2nd, 9am -- 5pm. It will be held in our Tigard office. For a complete volunteer job description, application packet, and additional information about volunteering in the Portland or Salem areas, contact Michele Fuchs, Volunteer Coordinator, [email protected], 1-800-936-4756, ext. 2031, Signature Hospice, 7070 SW Fir Loop, #100, Tigard OR 97223, 800-936-4756, ext 2031,  www.4signatureservice.com.

Signature Hospice affirms life.  Signature Hospice exists to provide support and care for persons in the last phases of a life-limiting illness so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible.  Signature Hospice believes that providing care for a terminal patient is a sacred and honored opportunity to help people live as fully as possible while embracing the demands of terminal illness.  We do the little things that make a big difference.  We believe every little thing we do, can and will make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
