position summary:

The Family Technician, Housing Specialist is responsible for working with low income and at risk families to develop an intensive case plan that addresses their barriers to housing and employment. This is a temporary full time position until June 30, 2010. This position reports to the Community and Family Programs Anti-Poverty Program Manager. Self Enhancement Family and Community Programs is located at the OAME Center, 4134 N. Vancouver, Portland OR 97227.

Salary / Pay Rate:$2,260 - $3,277 monthly.
Required Skills and Abilities:• Experience conducting needs assessments and initiating support services. • Must have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people of varying social, economic and education levels. • Must have excellent problem solving skills. • Must have the ability to successfully motivate and connect with others. • Must be highly organized and self motivated with effective time management skills. • Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions, rules and procedures; to work independently and to be a vital and contributing part of a team. • Must have excellent computer skill; experience using ServicePoint and/or Excel software a plus. • Must have a valid Oregon driver's li¬cense and be insurable under SEI’s auto coverage.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or in a related field and/or 5 years case management experience • Experience working with diverse populations.
