Part-time Bookkeeper needed at VOZ

VOZ Workers Rights Education Project (www.portlandvoz.org)

On going 6-10 hours weekly (depending on the week of the month) Pay: $10-12 hourly depending on experience

VOZ’s financial system uses Quickbooks Non-Profit Pro Edition 2009, and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet programs to track all financial data.

The VOZ part-time Bookkeeper is responsible for:

- Weekly bills to be paid input and creating checks for signature and timely payment - Weekly input of donation and other income details - Monthly payroll reporting to our payroll service - Monthly input of payroll gross, taxes, etc into Quickbooks - Weekly problem solving - Filing of invoices and other financial data as needed - Maintaining spreadsheets of financial activity as needed - Creating reports through Quickbooks for financial status and grant status as needed - Working with the Accounting Consultant monthly to review data input details, review bank reconciliations and payroll reconciliations, and produce monthly Financial Statements for Board meetings and staff use

Qualifications: - Significant ability with numbers and attention to detail - Experience with Quickbooks - Experience with computers, email, and web applications - Collegial office teamwork perspective and willingness to pitch in - Some time flexibility - Positive character references - Support of the causes of immigrant rights and day laborer rights, and other social justice causes - MUST be available to come into the VOZ office weekly to perform job functions: outside bookkeeping services that do not work at client offices will not be considered
