Description: Cascade AIDS Project (CAP), the leading provider of HIV prevention, education, housing, advocacy and support services in Oregon is seeking a full-time Bilingual HIV Prevention Specialist. This person will design and implement HIV prevention activities, conduct HIV counseling and testing, perform outreach and recruitment into testing and other programs and services, help staff the Men’s Wellness Center and participate in additional department and agency activities with a focus on reaching Latino men who have sex with men. This position reports to the Manager of Prevention Services.

The following are Minimum Qualifications which all applicants must meet in order to be considered for this position. It must be evident from your application packet that you meet all minimum qualifications. Those who do not will not be considered for the position.

 Bachelor’s Degree in human/social services (social work, public or community health, psychology) or related field or 2 years of human services experience  Verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish  Strong understanding of gay/bi men’s issues and how they might affect service delivery  Experience working with ethnic, racial, economic and sexually diverse populations  Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with community stakeholders  Computer and keyboard proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working knowledge of the internet  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Ability to work independently with accountability  Must be available to work evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:  Previous experience working in sexual health and/or HIV prevention  Previous experience conducting HIV counseling and testing  Knowledge of behavioral health models and evidence-based interventions  Previous experience recruiting, training and managing volunteers  Previous experience in community organizing or conducting community outreach programs

Salary / Pay Rate: $29,851 – 37,459 annually depending on experience; employer-paid health, dental, vision, long-term disability and life insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with generous employer matching contribution, 125C cafeteria savings plan; generous vacation and health leave benefits.
