Migrant Health Day and Health and Resource Fair!

Please join Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation and Health Center for: Planting the Seeds for a Healthy Future, National Health Center Week and Migrant Farmworker Health Day 2009.

This year National Health Center Week is August 9 through the 15. The Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation and Health Center will partner with local organizations, government officials, media, and community members for two inspiring events during this week.

Migrant Farmworker Health Day: Monday, August 10, 2009, 8-10am, Virginia Garcia’s Cornelius Clinic (85 N. 12th Ave, Cornelius, OR).

Virginia Garcia and local community leaders, including Congressman David Wu, will honor the contributions of migrant farmworkers and discuss the health challenges faced by this population. We will also honor community partners who make the work of Virginia Garcia’s Migrant Outreach Program possible. Honorees include: Providence Health System, Rosalia Ginsburg, and Marie Napolitano.

Program: 8-9am- Virginia Garcia, government and community representatives present, and special partners are honored. Tours and Reception: 9-10am- Tours of Virginia Garcia’s Cornelius Clinic and Mobile Clinic are offered and reception is held for guests. Virginia Garcia’s Second Annual Health and Resource Fair: August 14, 2009, 10am-3pm, Virginia Garcia’s Cornelius Clinic (85 N. 12th Ave, Cornelius, OR).

Virginia Garcia will team up with 25 local organizations to provide a health and resource fair to the community from 10am to 3pm on the Cornelius Clinic campus. We expect over 300 attendees. Contact Ignolia Duyck for more information ([email protected] and (503) 359-8527).
