Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) seeks an “all purpose” intern to assist our Deputy Director, Chris Hagerbaumer.

Intern responsibilities will include policy research, assistance organizing workshops, and other projects as needed. Areas of focus are likely to include researching projects to reduce children’s exposure to harmful pesticides; researching policies to reduce the drive-alone incentive provided by free and ample parking; and assisting with the organization of workshops in 2-3 metropolitan areas outside of Portland to build support for climate-friendly land use and transportation planning.

This internship position is unpaid and requires a minimum three-month commitment of at least eight hours a week. The schedule is flexible and allows the intern to work off-site in many instances. A qualified candidate will have strong organizational skills, outstanding research skills, and a keen interest in environmental issues.
