We are growing as an organization and we need a bookkeeper.  Please forward this information widely.

VOZ part- time BOOKKEEPER On going 6-10 hours weekly (depending on the week of the month) Pay: New Higher Rate of $15 hourly depending on experience

Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, August 5 at Noon  

VOZ’s financial system uses Quickbooks Non-Profit Pro Edition 2009, and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet programs to track all financial data.  

The VOZ part-time Bookkeeper is responsible for:  Weekly bills to be paid input and creating checks for signature and timely payment. Weekly input of donation and other income details. Monthly payroll reporting to our payroll service. Monthly input of payroll gross, taxes, etc into Quickbooks. Weekly problem solving. Filing of invoices and other financial data as needed. Maintaining spreadsheets of financial activity as needed. Creating reports through Quickbooks for financial status and grant status as needed. Working with the Accounting Consultant monthly to review data input details, review bank reconciliations and payroll reconciliations, and produce monthly Financial Statements for Board meetings and staff use  

Qualifications: Significant ability with numbers and attention to detail ü. Experience with Quickbooks. Experience with computers, email, and web applications. Collegial office teamwork perspective and willingness to pitch in. Some time flexibility. Positive character references. Support of the causes of immigrant rights and day laborer rights, and other social justice causes.

MUST be available to come into the VOZ office weekly to perform job functions: outside bookkeeping services that do not work at client offices will not be considered  

Position is supervised by the Executive Director.
