Brooklyn Bay Benefit - Oct 24

The Brooklyn Bay Benefit Performance

7:30 pm: food, drink and socializing

We’ll present excerpts from four performances currently being developed at The Brooklyn Bay, showcasing the different kinds of programming the Bay offers.

Tao Soup: The Drunken Monkeys will perform a vocal improvisation demonstrating a form of spontaneous music they have been developing for a new section of Tao Soup (scheduled to open in 2010).  Performed by Rachel Heichen, Melanya Helene, Kristy Rose Leech, Marc Otto, and Jamie M. Rea.

Play after Play: Melanya Helene and Marc Otto will take you on a journey around the world with the music from Play after Play.  They will fly through the music from the over 20 original shows they have created over the last 5 years. This will culminate in one of the shows in it's entirety, The Faeries and the Cake Baker, one of our funniest shows where Marc plays 6 characters at once!

Dig Down:  An except from the first act of a three act work-in-progress entitled The Garden.A young boy stumbles into an abandoned house and finds more than he bargained for. Written and performed by Mike Gust.

Summers by the Sea:  A piece about the difficulties of sorting the past from the present in the mind of an aging socialite. Written and performed by Angie LawlessThere will also be an invitation to join in on some improvisational explorations. All performances are based in Mindfulness-Based Improv aka kelmanworks.

After the performances, stay and discuss the process with the performers in a casual atmosphere. All proceeds support The Brooklyn Bay, a 501(c)3 organization see our WEBSITE
