Celebrate 85 years of Toastmasters with the Humorous Speech Contest

85 years ago, Ralph Smedley, a youth leader, held a meeting in the basement of the YMCA to impart the tenets of public speaking.  That initial meeting has grown into the worldwide leader of communication and leadership skills known as Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization with more than a quarter of a million members and over 10,000 clubs in 62 countries.

What better way to celebrate 85 years of proven success than to enjoy an evening of merriment as Area contest winners vie for the Division championship with their humorous speeches!  The Downtown Division consists of twenty-eight Toastmasters clubs in Downtown Portland, Old Town/Chinatown, University District, and the Pearl District.
