Blessings and Blues Concert benefits Mercy Corps & Cascade Blues Musicians' Relief Fund

Portland’s own Gospel Music legend Janice Scroggins, and Australia’s international award winning blueswoman, Fiona Boyes, will headline the Blessings and Blues benefit concert on Sunday, November 1, 2009. Blessings and Blues will be held at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church (at 1535 NE 17th Ave in Northeast Portland) at 7:00 pm. The event will also include appearances by Lloyd Jones, Jimi Bott, Dave Kahl, Dover Weinberg, La Rhonda Steele, and other special guests. Proceeds from Blessings and Blues will support Mercy Corps as it enables families in Liberia to have access to safe, clean drinking water and the Cascade Blues Association’s Musician Relief Fund.

The suggested minimum donation is $10 per person. Due to space limitations, guests are encouraged to pick up Blessings and Blues tickets early. Tickets will be available at Grace Memorial or at the door. Tickets may also be reserved through Grace at 503-287-0418.

Grace Memorial is located on NE Weidler between NE 16th and 17th Avenues in Portland’s Lloyd Center District. All are welcome. Ample parking is available, and the church can be easily reached via bus. The church is wheelchair accessible at the 17th Avenue entrance.
