position summary:

Work with RACC management and program staff to develop and oversee implementation of effective outreach, campaign and marketing strategies for The Right Brain Initiative. Design communication tools and special events to foster community engagement and support the Initiative’s fundraising efforts.

Salary / Pay Rate:$16.50
Required Skills and Abilities:Create and oversee implementation of a community outreach plan, tailoring messages to reach targeted audiences such as parents, educators, funders and business leaders; Develop a grassroots campaign to capture the interest of the community-at-large in supporting the Initiative’s goals; Design electronic and printed marketing materials and oversee production as necessary; Communicate frequently with constituents and supporters through newsletters and updates as well as social networking/micro-blogging campaigns; Coordinate with program management and Marketing Committee members on special projects and community events, managing all details to execute agreed-upon plans; Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with regional media, presenting story ideas and preparing press releases when appropriate. Produce direct mail and electronic solicitations to support fundraising and track responses; Maintain a constituent database and email listserv.
Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications or business administration-marketing. Minimum five years experience in non-profit marketing/development and/or corporate marketing/communications. Experienced in graphic design, data entry, database management, copy writing, media relations, and event planning and/or community advocacy. Outstanding written and oral communication skills with public speaking experience. Knowledge of or experience in arts education, preferred.
