position summary:

The Information Technology (‘IT’) Associate assists and supports the IT Specialist (0.7 FTE) with day‐to‐day maintenance, management and support of various computer systems and peripherals for a small network of 25‐30 users. This position also provides desktop computer support to RACC users, including assistance with and training on various software applications. Taken together, the two IT positions cover 48 hours during the RACC work week, providing constant staff access to IT support.

Salary / Pay Rate:$16/hour
Required Skills and Abilities:• Installing and configuring PC desktop computers and software. • Responding to immediate, urgent technical problems preventing staff from doing their jobs. • Prioritizing non‐urgent technical needs and working to address them in a timely fashion, or referring them to the IT Specialist when appropriate. • Maintaining good communication with the IT Specialist regarding status of ongoing and pending issues. • Monitor server health and troubleshoot server‐related issues when they arise, such as email problems, virus/threat and spam issues, critical server‐based software maintenance, etc. • Assisting or training staff on the use of various software applications, peripherals such as printers and scanners, and online tools and services, as needed. Referring users to the IT Specialist when appropriate. • Assisting in the regular monitoring and troubleshooting of various web‐based, database‐driven systems, such as RACC’s GrantsOnline grant application system.
Qualifications:• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills. RACC Information Technology Associate • Excellent personal and email communication skills. • Experience maintaining Windows PC computers, installing and configuring software • Experience maintaining Windows servers. • Advanced skills with Windows operating systems (Windows XP or later for desktops, Windows 2003 or later for servers) and Microsoft Office applications. • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. • Experience with databases. Preferred but not required: Experience with FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server. • Preferred but not required: Experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, CMS (Drupal in particular) and/or other web development skills. Training provided.
