Description: Africa Bridge, a non-profit organization based in West Linn, Oregon, impacts thousands of children in rural Tanzania through programs that address poverty by providing microloans, self-employment opportunities, education, and social and legal services.

The mission of Africa Bridge is to listen to Tanzanian children and empower their communities to protect, support, and care for orphaned and most vulnerable children. Our philosophy is to work within the community and in partnership with Tanzanian organizations to design sustainable, locally-based interventions to address the challenges faced by children impacted by HIV/AIDS and poverty.

Position Objectives: The Operations and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the organization’s administrative functions, execution of marketing and communications plans and community coordination. This position reports to the Development Director.

Administrative Functions: Office Management/Organization - including regulatory requirements, donor correspondence and donation processing, donor database management, and administrative reports

Execution of Marketing and Communications: Plans Website content management, production of marketing/donor materials including: annual report, annual appeal, marketing materials, and press releases. Development of social media campaign (Facebook, Twitter)

Community Coordination: Volunteer management; assist in the planning, preparation and execution of various fundraising activities, special events, schools program and presentations to community and civic organizations

Salary / Pay Rate:$15.00/hr. 20 hrs/week
Required Skills and Abilities:Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and strong relevant experience required. Strong computer skills preferred - prior database experience; creating reports, mail merges, etc. Knowledge of Word, Excel and database software. Fluency in social media websites, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc. Other Skills/Talents:  Proficiency in donor database management, project management, and donor cultivation.  Extremely organized and detail oriented  Ability to monitor and meet deadlines  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Ability to develop and nurture positive relationships with a variety of funders and organizations  Energetic, committed, flexible and innovative  Ability to work independently  Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends  Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple, complex tasks
