Rare Opportunity to Experience Five Portland Cohousing Communities on November 7 Tour

An all-day tour of Portland, Oregon cohousing communities will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participants will travel by bus to five communities including Columbia Ecovillage, Peninsula Park Commons, Daybreak Cohousing, Cascadia Commons and Trillium Hollow. Each community will be visited for 40-60 minutes and include fact sheets, site maps and presentations. Lunch will be provided at Daybreak Cohousing, Portland’s newest cohousing community which opened this month.

Cohousing is a type of collaborative housing in which residents actively participate in the design and operation of their own neighborhoods. Cohousing residents are consciously committed to living as a community. The physical design encourages both social contact and individual space. Private homes contain all the features of conventional homes, but residents also have access to extensive common facilities.

Tour cost per person is $95. Group pricing is available. Preregistration is required. Online registration is available at www.cohousing.org/tours For more information, contact Neil Planchon at [email protected]
