position summary:

The Assistant Development Officer (ADO) is an integral member of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation Team and will take an active role in all aspects of fundraising for the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center (VGMHC). Working closely with the Individual and Corporate Giving Officer and Executive Director, the ADO will help oversee gift processing, acknowledgement letters, donor correspondence, and fundraise as additional components of the position. The individual in this role will work with the Foundation ED and other staff members to create and maintain a positive team environment. The ADO is responsible for the recruitment and management of the VG volunteer program.

Salary / Pay Rate:$35,000 - $45,000, DOE
Required Skills and Abilities:Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher (or another design platform), and database applications; and, ability to set priorities, take initiative and manage diverse responsibilities. Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License (ODL), and insured vehicle for some travel within Oregon and Washington. Some nights and weekends will be required.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of experience in development or a closely related field. Proven experience working with donors and volunteers. Successful experience in writing letters of inquiry and grants. Demonstrated successful experience with development, writing, fundraising and grant writing protocols. Preference given to applicants with: • Successful experience in managing volunteer programs • Working with the press and media • Past track record of grant writing and face-to-face donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
