Volunteer with Zenger Farm’s Field Trips Spring 2010

Volunteers are essential to our experiential field trips and service-learning projects. We need you to help lead Zenger Farm field trips.

The 90 minute to 3 hour field trips provide visiting youth with opportunities to learn about:

Sustainable farming practices, Healthy soils, Botany, Wetland ecology, Insects, Compost, Red Wiggler Worms, Chickens, Honey Bees, Fresh food and more.

Commitment: We ask that our Field Trip Volunteers commit to help lead about one field trip per week, March though early June (two to four volunteer hours a week).

To apply: Please download our application from www.zengerfarm.org/volunteering

Training: Volunteers are asked to attend our one day training Friday, February 26th from 9:30 am-2:30pm.

At the training we will: • Learn about Zenger Farm and how to lead outdoor experiential education programs • Discuss the fine art of behavior management • Add depth and understanding to local flora, fauna and sustainable farming • Pet chickens and check out worms, bees and native animals
