Peninsula K-8: 5 hours/week, during 09-10 school year Grade VI; Non-exempt

Summary: Teaches two art classes (grades 1-4 and 5-8) and assists with Homework Club for 30 minutes on Tuesdays, 2:15-5:15pm. This position records class attendance, maintains SUN School behavioral expectations and classroom management standards.

Essential Duties: • Teach engaging and age appropriate activities in SUN School course area, art, to students in grades 1-8 • Conduct class expectations in a manner consistent with SUN School behavioral expectations • Provide lesson plans and class supplies lists to SUN School Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience working with children/youth. Or, Associate’s degree and three years of experience working with children/youth; • Strong classroom management skills and natural leadership qualities; • Positive and enthusiastic attitude; • Ability to assist students in a wide range of academic subjects; • Experience and ability to work with students from diverse socio-economic or ethnic backgrounds; • Must pass criminal background check as condition of employment.

Salary / Pay Rate:Hourly Range: $12.91 - $15.50;
