Local theatre gets a little support from Nobel Women's Initiative

BroadArts Theatre's big news of today- the Nobel Women's Initiative- yes that would be the organization of Nobel Peace Prize Women!! has given us permission to play their video of Dr. Wangarii Maathai and Maiered Corrigan MacGuire from the Copenhagen Global Climate Change Conference as part of the production of A/Broad for All Seasons!

BroadArts Goes Global!

Set against a fictional and funny background, A/BROAD FOR ALL SEASONS incorporates real stories of women who are even now changing the face of history/herstory. Women like Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s (Burma's) democratically elected political prisoner of conscience: Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan Maguire, who anchored the Peace movement in Northern Ireland; Dr. Wangari Maathai of Kenya, who leads a global effort of reforestation and environmental sustainability, the Green Belt Movement provide the play’s inspiration. Through harmonies, historica and hysterica, the story of our continued progress toward an inclusive and sustainable world unfolds.
