Hats & Scarves Project welcomes your help!

Living Earth’s Hats & Scarves Winter Warming Project connects Portland’s knitters and crocheters with folks who need a little help staying warm this winter. Check out www.HatsandScarves.org or www.LivingEarthGatherings.org for full details.

Hats & Scarves is simple: Knit or crochet hats and scarves – as many as you’d like to – for babies, kids and adults. You can do it on the bus, at a meeting, watching TV or wherever you happen to have a few minutes and free hands. Then drop your finished items in a Living Earth drop basket at 7 Corners New Seasons Market, or any Albina Community Bank branch. We will be accepting new hand-made items until at least January 31.

Since Dec. 10, we have distributed 150 beautiful, bright, soft and cozy homemade hats and scarves to IRCO Africa House, Sisters of the Road, and Emanuel Children’s Hospital. Your generosity helps everyone from newborn babies to centenarians stay warm through the cold months ahead.

And even if you aren’t a needleworker, we’d love your help with this project. Contact us at www.hatsandscarves.org for more info.

PS. A generous donor donated 200 skeins of yarn for this project. If you need yarn to help, please reply to this email, or contact us at www.HatsandScarves.org.
