Support local classrooms by volunteering at the front desk of the Free Store for Teachers!

As a Front Desk Volunteer you will greet and check in teachers as they arrive, explain shopping procedures, answer questions, and help with checkout. Front Desk Volunteers are a vital part of the Free Store for Teachers, connecting Portland Public School teachers with the supplies needed to create an excellent learning environment for all students!

Front Desk Volunteer shifts are available:

A weekly or monthly commitment is preferred, although we will gladly welcome volunteers who want to help for a shift!

Plus, for every three hours that you volunteer you’re able to earn a voucher for one free shopping trip at the Free Store for Teachers! Please note: shopping vouchers are redeemable only by teachers at Portland Public Schools, private schools, and schools outside of the Portland Public School District. If you’re not a teacher, you may donate your voucher to the teacher of your choice!

-- Schoolhouse Supplies supports students and teachers throughout Portland Public Schools by operating a volunteer-run Free Store for Teachers. By collecting private and corporate donations of all kinds – from classroom basics like pencils and paper to books, backpacks, and folders – the Free Store for Teachers supplies much-needed learning materials to local classrooms. Every child deserves the tools they need to succeed in school – help us support this mission!
